Practical Spirituality is dedicated to the furthering of Self knowledge.

“From time immemorial wisdom writers have been telling us that the material world is based upon the spiritual world.” – Anon

Spirituality can be described as the Interconnectedness of all Life and the interdependence of that Life upon each other in order to survive. We live in a Sea of Energy. Modern science shows us this. We are made up of tiny energy particles at the smallest level. All the things around us are made of the same Sea of Energy. We also swim in that Sea of Energy with everyone else. We are made of that same energy.

This website provides a combination of tools and practices designed to empower people to discover their own Spiritual path.

It introduces practices that anyone can personalize to connect with a more interconnected approach to Life.  The approach is non-sectarian – and All are welcome!  Improvisation and fun are encouraged!

It covers Training the Mind, Basic Meditation, Concentration and Positive thinking exercises, Dream Journals, Home altars and Sacred Space, the Lunar cycle, benefits from Spiritual practice, and other tools to inspire your Spiritual Life and practice.  To remember and celebrate our connection with all Life can be a fun, beautiful and healthy practice.

All these elements are practical parts of our interaction with Life.  When we Practice, we focus on our own interconnectedness and creating more beauty around us.

Moment by moment we can choose to go toward further clarity and happiness or toward confusion and pain. In order to make this choice skillfully, most of us turn to spiritual practices of various kinds. Working on ourselves and becoming more conscious about our own minds and emotions may be the only way for us to find solutions that address the welfare of all beings and survival of the Earth itself.
Pema Chodron

Note: This is only one set of ideas and tools that one could use to build a Spirituality practice.  There are many ways to do this.  Infinitely customizable.

The first peace, which is the most important,
is that which comes within the souls of people
when they realize their relationship, their oneness,
with the universe and all its powers.

For those of you having a particularly stressful moment, Bach’s rescue remedy may be of assistance along with some quiet meditation.  Here are some introductory articles on meditation: 7 Myths of Meditation, and a beginners guide to Meditation.  Just focusing on calm breathing and / or taking a good long walk can also help balance the mind.
