Teaching Angel Candles / Cards

Working with the Teaching Angels

There are Teaching Angels for each day of the week.  These angels are associated with the days in the Western tradition.

Example:  Archangel Gabriel of Monday (moon day) is the lord of the astral: the psychological and emotional world. You can invoke Archangel Gabriel to learn about working with the moon cycle, your home, things you might need, and domestic matters.

You can use these candles or cards each day. On your altar. In your sacred space. Get the candle / card for the day.  Use the prayer / mantra on the back.

The Teaching Angels are benevolent celestial intermediaries between God (or Heaven) and humanity, protectors and guides for humans. “Angel” can also refer to a perfect or complete state of the human being.

You can connect with them. Create Sacred Space in your home, keep a Dream Journal, and work with the angels.

Creating Sacred Space.

Sacred Space; a connection with the Spiritual world and the Divine.  A place for you to spend time celebrating yourself and the world around you.  You can nurture this connection through daily practice. It can be a reminder of your interconnected-ness with others, the Earth, and All Life.

The key is to spend some time daily in your Sacred space.

A home altar or Sacred space can provide a sense of your connection with the Spiritual world and the Divine.  You can have daily inspiration by nurturing this connection.

The key is to spend some time daily in your Sacred space.

 Create your own sacred space.

A home altar can be a focal point for the Spiritual energies in a particular place.  You can cultivate these positive Spiritual energies with gratitude, attention, positive focus, love, care, and, depending upon your approach, prayer.

It can represent your idea of what an interconnected world might be.  It could be extremely simple, with a flower and a representation of the Earth Mother.  Or you might have a statue of the Buddha, a crystal, or really anything that for you represents the idea of your continuing relationship to a Spiritual world and the Divine.

There are no rules for this space.  Simply approach making some Sacred Space in your home in an organic way that works for you.  Having it be fun can also be wonderful.  Unleash your imagination and see what you can accomplish.

It’s also natural for your Sacred space to continue to grow and change.  Additions and changes to your space are not only natural but may reflect the changes within you – or even the changes in seasons, holidays, or perhaps just a whim of the moment.

However, it is important to focus your intent on creating a Positive spiritual influence in your Sacred Space.  This can provide lasting benefits for you, your living space, and the broader community around you.  Give it a try:

  1. Find a place in your living space that feels good to you.
  2. Add some items in that space that assist you in deepening your connection with Love – for yourself, others, and the world around you.
  3. Enter your Sacred space daily with the intention to treat it as a safe haven; a place where you can be yourself.
  4. Treat your Sacred space as a special area.  You can tend and nurture it as if it were a garden.

You can use the Teaching angel candles or cards in your sacred space each day.

Read the mantra for the day.

Keeping a Dream Journal

“If you start and persist with a dream journal, your inner life will begin to open itself to you.”
-anon

You may believe, as many people do, that you only dream infrequently. You may also not remember your dreams with any kind of regularity or specific recall.

The solution to this is easy: Intention and Practice.

Take your time and find a blank dream journal that you like. Yours could be a simple spiral bound notebook. Or you may prefer a more elaborate lined journal with a hard cover. The actual form of your journal is not terribly important.  Your intention to find a journal, perhaps along with an idea about a style that might be fun :), can lead you to the right one.

As you choose your journal, you are creating an intention to record and remember your dreams. Once you start using your journal, you are re-enforcing that intention with daily practice. If you persist in writing down, 1st thing in the morning, your impressions from the night before, you may find your dream frequency and recall improving dramatically.

Basic Dream Journal practice:

Upon waking from sleep, take time to record any impressions or dreams. Even a short sentence or fragment is usually enough to aid your memory in recalling the dream at hand.  Take the time to go back over your journal – once a week. What’s going on?  Are there symbols repeating?

This is my simple religion.
There is no need for temples;
no need for complicated philosophy.
Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.
